Like the four past years, we'll be holding gaming competitions of classic Atari 8- and 16-bit games. The games in question are Arkanoid on the ST
and Warhawk on the XL.
Atari ST game competition Arkanoid A Taito arcade game, mainly a breakout clone that had a good port on the ST by Peter Johnson. Breakout was ment to be a "one player Pong" but Arkanoid takes it a long way beyond that. We'll be playing on the real hardware with a generic mouse, you can bring your own mouse if desired. Atari XL/XE game competition Warhawk A shoot'em up classic that was released on many platforms. It has one of the most appreciated soundtracks of any XL game (by Rob Hubbard). The graphics is not state of the art, but the game is fast and action packed, the conversion on the Atari XL/XE is made by Andrew Betts.
